Registered Professional Surveyor
Hamish returned to his homeland of Southland in May 2015 after gaining 15 years' experience in a very diverse range of surveying and engineering fields.
Growing up on a farm in rural Eastern Southland it was a natural progression to return to the district when the opportunity arose with Landpro in Gore.
Hamish studied a Bachelor of Surveying Degree at Otago University commencing in 2000. After completing his degree, Hamish spent 4 years in Christchurch working in a large multi-disciplinary firm obtaining his Cadastral Survey Licence in 2008. Following this he spent 3 years in Nelson, after which he returned to Christchurch to assist with the earthquake recovery effort in 2013. Most recently he has been awarded the title of Registered Professional Surveyor after making an application to the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors in the latter part of 2014.
During his career he has been involved with a wide range of projects from large residential subdivisions and infrastructure projects to rural boundary adjustments and farm subdivisions. His most recent experience in Christchurch dealing with earthquake affected property boundaries has been particularly challenging.
Hamish's interests include mountain biking, skiing, tramping, hunting and poking around on the family farm at East Chatton. He is looking forward to settling back into life in Southland and indoctrinating his 4 children into Southland culture.
